We are Alan and Lynne co-owners of Hawaiian Apothecary No. 13 located on the east side of Hawaii Island.   We are also the full time caregivers to Alan’s mom  Elisabeth (Liz) 

Alan’s family roots in Hawaii go back to the early 1900’s.  His grandparents immigrated to work in the sugar cane plantations in Kohala and later in Ola’a.  Alan was born in Hilo, Hawaii and was raised to embrace the culture and aloha of the Hawaiian Islands. 

Both Alan and Lynne enjoy the natural beauty of this land and its people.  

Hawaiian Apothecary No. 13 is a family owned and operated business..  Our first formula was created in 2019 for Liz who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease.  We tried different medications prescribed by doctors for Liz’a symptoms of agitation, anger, delusions, paranoia, etc.  We worried about the side effects of these medications and even noticed that they really did’t change the behaviors much.  After researching further and speaking to alternatively inclined professionals about the use of non psycho active cannabis (i.e. cannabis CBD products) we decided to give it a try.  

We began experimenting with different delivery systems from tinctures to edibles.  We found that for Liz edibles helped decrease her symptoms of paranoia, agitation, wandering and overall mood regulation.

After doing additional research we discovered that cannabis cbd has so many more health benefits.  

Through this we began to develop our own original formulas with CBD as the main ingredient for our wellness products.  We continue to refine our products with the use of locally sourced ingredients such as medicinal mushrooms/herbs and honey.

Over the years, we have formed relationships with cannabis cbd, herbal, mushroom, essential oils, and other ingredient suppliers both on and off the islands.  We utilize only the highest quality all natural and organic ingredients in our formulas in order to meet our quality control requirements.  Our products are all hand crafted in small batches created right here on Hawaii Island.

In late 2023 we have to expand and have opened a new company on the mainland called "Kou ola Pono" in Las Vegas Nevada.  to provide our products retail to the lower 48 states. This allows us to offer our products at lower prices, lower shipping costs, and at expedited shipping time.
